PULP AND PAPER INDUSTRY


The pulp and paper industries have a history of efficient use of resources where residual biomass is used to produce power and heat. Power for internal use and heat, where possible, is delivered to local district heating during part of the year. However, there is still plenty of waste heat, particularly in temperatures below 90°C.

ZIGRID’s modular design makes it easy to be implemented as a single container or combining several depending on available heat flows. As ZIGRID uses heat for power production the need for separate cooling is reduced, thus saving costs while still meeting environmental regulations.

STEEL AND ALUMINUM INDUSTRY


The steel and aluminum industries are the primary contributors to global waste heat as well as CO2 emissions. In these industries there are massive opportunities to save energy – and money – by utilizing that heat, also below 90°C.

GEOTHERMAL ENERGY


Geothermal heat power has long been a well-known source of power, and a number of countries use it as significant source for heating and power production. However, there is still a large unexplored potential which gets more accessible as drilling techniques improve.

Lower temperatures of geothermal heat are normally located closer to the surface and are less costly to reach. The ZIGRID solution, operating below 90°C, thus becomes viable already at an early stage
